EigenMode is a collaboration between a quantum physicist and a graphic designer. One translates the universe into equations. The other translates equations into illustrations. Together, they translate physics into something you can wear.
Aymeric Saunot
PhD student in quantum physics
Spends his days reading dispersion data on ARPES and XPS spectra. Spends his evenings turning electron behaviour into chest-pocket stickers. Aymeric chooses the phenomena, writes the explainers, and makes sure the science is right at all three levels.
Francisca Amaral
Freelance graphic designer
Works in clean isometric geometry and crisp line work. Takes abstract physics scribbles and turns them into visual stories that hold up at three feet, three meters, and on the back of a hoodie. The bridge between equation and illustration.
The spark
How EigenMode
started.
The idea was simple: every quantum phenomenon has a story, and most of those stories never make it past a lecture hall. A particle that tunnels through a wall. Two photons that stay correlated across the galaxy. Light that knocks electrons out of metal.
These ideas deserved illustrations, not equations on a chalkboard, they deserved to be conversation starters.
Each piece begins as Aymeric's sketch that captures why the quantum world is genuinely strange. Then Kika trandform it into mind-blowing illustration. Finally the QR code is added: the links between the illustrationa and the physics behind it.
We believe physics isn't locked away in textbooks. That's why we make it wearable.

The name
Why "EigenMode"?

A natural resonant state of a system. The way something wants to vibrate, rotate, or evolve when left to itself. In quantum mechanics, the eigenmodes of a system are the fundamental solutions of the Schrödinger equation, the states with definite, well-defined energy.
"Mode" is a French word that translates to "Fashion". We chose it because we want people to be proud to wear beautiful quantum illustrations.
We picked the word because it captures both ideas at once: Physics and Fashion. Eigenmodes are the most natural way a system can behave. We think wearing physics should feel just as natural and beautifull.

The sketch
From an idea, sketch are created to translate physics into a real-world situation. Explanation in 3-level are written to make EigenMode accesible for everyone.
The illustration
Francisca transforms the concept into a clean original illustration. Keeping EigenMode style withing the brandign book.
The wear
Printed on demand on organic cotton. A QR code links to the explainer. You scan, you learn, you tell someone else. The phenomenon goes social.
